Cara This album took me by surprise: I asked bandcamp to shuffle everything and picked the first cover on the page to speak anything to me. The back-to-back bangers of Call Me Montezuma and Songs of Triumph made my mind up before I'd even finished a first listen of the album. Highly recommended. Favorite track: Songs of Triumph.

See I've got to pull myself by my bootstraps No one's gonna do it all for me I've been searching for a moment Where I can be who I want to be All time is present now And I can't get through the door All things must come to pass But our hearts want more and more And I sit and I split in two Just like I always do I'm confined by the things that just ain't true And what has time got to do Cause all time is now See I've got to flip my patch from left to right now Cause that's the only way I'm gonna see I've been cutting diamonds for the sake of sympathy I need to do it this time for me All time is present now And I can't get through the door All things must come to pass But our hearts want more and more And I sit and I split in two Just like I always do I'm confined by the things that just ain't true And what has time got to do You wanna change the now But you never knew how Why don't you Get it all together love You wanna change the now But you never knew how Why don't you Get it get it get it get it You wanna change the now But you never knew how Why don't you Get it all together love You wanna change the now But you never knew how

Perspective 04:58
One man leaves the bar with his girl While another man needs a fix and his head does twirl He says, "Gimme all your money and I'll leave you both alone!" Now one man's brother is dead while another son is sitting inside a cell One girl looks in the mirror and hates what she sees Cause she's staring at the girl on the cover of the magazine Searching for perfection that she will never find And it warps the perspective of her fragile mind All these crazy things things that we do Searching for happiness under skies so blue We can't get what we want or what we need Until the power of love overcomes the power of greed And we learn how to see One man stands on the left while the other stands right And they're calling out eachother and there's no end in sight They're putting up walls and they're leaving the rest to die Both say it won't work and they both won't try All these crazy things things that we do Searching for happiness under skies so blue We can't get what we want or what we need Until the power of love overcomes the power of greed And we learn how to see Lot's of people talking, they're talking 'bout the world today I said there's too much talking, there's nothing left to say If people can't learn to love instead of hate Then the world is over, that's the end of the debate All these crazy things things that we do Searching for happiness under skies so blue We can't get what we want or what we need Until the power of love overcomes the power of greed And we learn how to see

Well the ravens tell me things What winter's end will bring, oh Not a thought that I could breach Cause you were always out of reach, and you know The earth is dead and turning red And the people are all fat and funny-fed That's what they said Time is rolling on And all the things That we are building They wont be here for long Time is rolling on And all the things You think are wonderful They wont be here for long Time is rolling on And when you finally see That it cannot be, well Don't call me Don't call me Montezuma Don't call me Montezuma Now they're picking up the pace Cause it must be a race for space around here Build a tower to the moon Cause there's nothing left on earth to consume And their search for gold is getting old And the people will not do just what they're Told...not anymore...no Time is rolling on And all the things That we are seeing They wont be here for long Time is rolling on And all the things You think are precious They wont be around for long Time is rolling on And when you finally see That it cannot be, well Don't call me Don't call me Montezuma I know I'm not the only one Don't call me Montezuma

Just a second, just a moment's glance I feel the quiet desperation as the seasons pass I was a lost lover looking for a second chance Til I saw the sun cry for the moon And all the stars came crashing down and end it too soon Just a second, won't you hold my hand You were the last living lover that I'll ever defend And we tie a knot when we're caught singing songs of despair Well you saw the sun swallow the moon And all the stars supernova and end it too soon I walk alone And I sing along For us to be one again Don't you know I can never tell from my fall from grace I'd love to rip a hole in time and space I can never sing those songs of despair Singing songs of triumph with you

Going Home 04:51
Standing just a little past sunset Gotta get out of this town There's a place in the desert Other people going down I'm standing with nothing My guitar in my hand A girl pulls up next to me and says, "The Playa will provide and baby I got a ride" Find the others, oh rock n roll Ooooo I said we're going home All night traveling cars Caravan under the stars Road looks like a serpent on fire Black Rock City awaits I'm standing with nothing My guitar in my hand A girl pulls up next to me and says, "The Playa will provide and baby I got a ride" Find the others, oh rock n roll Ooooo I said we're going home Well I've been stuck here without an answer I've been stuck here for an age With all the hippies in the dust All the world is a stage And I wonder If I could do it all again Would I do it all the same? Maybe Well I've been stuck here without an question I've been stuck here for a week With all the sculptures in the sand But they dont's speak If I could do it all again Standing just a little past sunset Gotta get out of this town There's a place in the desert Black Rock City awaits I'm standing with nothing My guitar in my hand A girl pulls up next to me and says, "The Playa will provide and baby I got a ride" Find the others, oh rock n roll Ooooo I said we're going home

October Dusk 03:20
Days went by You and I were singing songs And there were love notes written on canvases And sleeping in all summer long In an endless sea of memories There will always be you and me I don't know where you went I don't know where you go Everytime I start thinking of you I'm just on Lander street again On and on As the rain poured down There was not a drop of song That could hit the town Seasons change Diamonds turn to dust I think of you On october dusk I don't know where you went I don't know where you go Everytime that rain turns to snow I'm just on Lander street again I can see my footsteps out the door I can tell my heart will never want more October dusk and I'm thinking of you I don't know what I am going to do About you about you about

Chameleon 04:14
Bring brang brungeth out from the sky Looking at the moon like a pizza pie You got a gleam in your eye I don't know why Star like tides move back and forth You and I huddled on the front porch And your colors did change And mine turn to question why Question why On and on you spoke about the moon and the birds and the trees On and on you choke on the words that you believe Purple can turn to green but first you got to be Chameleon chameleon chameleon Settle down Little lizard sitting on a bed of woes Your whole room is a mess of clothes You got a gleam in your eye I found out why Yellow belly lizard snake of the seas All your words mean nothing to me And your colors did change And mine turn to question why question why On and on you spoke about the moon and the birds and the trees On and on you choke on the words that you believe Purple can turn to green but baby first you got to be Chameleon Change before you grow You never actually know What it is to be The world outside you see Chameleon Everyone Am I you Chameleon what have you done With everyone I know Chameleon turning green to red Changed all those things you said Chameleon what can I do Your heart beats red Your blood is blue There is not one thing you can say There is not true

The Moth 03:17
Moth dashes into the light The light flickers from dim to bright And the chatter outside is brought now To a whisper The sky turns from blue to red Indigo won and the sunlight fled I will think of you till the sky turns green Cause I love I love I love you Oooooh The moth dances like a fluttering heart The moon glances and never parts And the earth floats like smoke As I exhale Flame dances around my hand The night has come to love the land I will think of you till the earth grows cold Cause I love I love I love you And I love you And I love you Oooooooh Moth dashes into the light The light flickers from dim to bright And the chatter outside is brought now To a whisper

Battles 04:29
Then as it was well it shall be There is an open door that Only seems to close for me You say you picked the lock But I swear you had a key I don't care what it takes cause I should be released Everytime I'm running from the shadows It always seems to be uphill It is not amusing to me at all I said I'd never do this again It's a battle Looking back I'm not the one Seized by another sattelite You don't allow me ever to be free When I paint pictures of the sea Everytime I'm running from the shadows It always seems to be uphill It is not amusing to me at all I said I'd never do this again It's a battle I know that it's all been said before You could win the battle but not the war I know that the matchstick can burn The tree that it came from And all at once I caught a glimpse Broken halo enshrouded in ellipsis It shows the antics can catch a kiss I know that it's all been said before You could win the battle but not the war I know that the matchstick can burn The tree that it came from
